What is "Mommy"

Today, as I sit at home, carefully watching my child, intuitively knowing that he does not feel well, I am thinking about being a mom. Every morning I wake up and my first thought is of my baby. I pull myself out of bed only because I am anxious to look at his sweet little face. Peering down over his crib, my heart melting, I see a goofy smile on his face. I think, it was my decision to make him and I made him! How giant of a decision, that is taken so lightly. I believe motherhood starts from the moment you decide you want a child. In that instant, life goes from being about you, to not. January of 2010, I remember laying in the exact spot I am now, with my husband beside me, marveling that we were pregnant. Wondering what life was going to be like and gazing at my tummy with such intense curiosity. Life was wonderful at that moment and the next 9 months proved to be unpredictable and indescribable. No woman can ever possible imagine what childbearing is like, until she is in the midst of it! Mommy is completely unselfish, fiercely protective, forgiving, patient, giving, and unconditionally in love. As I was in the midst of an extremely difficult delivery, 30 hours of labor ending in an emergency c-section, I was not concerned about me but about my child. Laying on the operating table, awake and aware of what was being done, the only thing I wanted was to see him. That moment I heard his sweet little cry and he was brought to me, and we cuddled cheek to cheek, I will remember forever. I was gazing at him in awe of how amazing and beautiful he was, while he was looking at me, knowing who I was and making sure I was always going to be there. Mommy, is not just a name, but a task that is not to be taken lightly. I love being a mommy. My child is a miracle, created by love, and given to us by the Creator, to love and teach and nurture. How much better I understand the Creator and His great love for His children. How I love being "Mommy."

My new Outfit

I bought this for him at Target and had to show it off!!!

My First Thanksgiving

Tayler is now 2 and 1/2 months old! He is getting so long! He is wearing his 3 month clothes already and filling them out length wise but not width wise! He is a skinny little guy. No fat rolls for this baby..lol. We spent our first Thanksgiving with Grandma Lindy and all the cousins. It was wild and alot of fun. Overall Tayler is doing great! He loves to read, talk, smile, kick and of course eat. He is very cute all of the time. He learns something new every day and we enjoy every second. Here are some updated pictures! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

2 Months

Tayler is 2 months old! His appointment went really good. He weighed 9lbs 8 oz and was 23 inches long. He is only in the 8th percentile for weight but the doctor wasn't worried about it. He is thriving in every other area! We recently took a trip to Denver and Tayler got to go to his first professional sports game! The Lakers vs the Nuggets! He is smiling more often now and loves talking. He especially loves it when you sing to him and he always tries to sing along! He is also a big fan of bath time and he only cries when you take him out! He is a great baby and is already sleeping through the night!! Tayler also got a new hat from Grandma! He loves wearing it and looks so dang cute in it! Here are some new pictures.

My first game! Go Lakers or Nuggets...I don't care!

Sorry it's blurry! Taken tonight..so most recent.

Snow Day

Today was Tayler's first snow! I think it makes him sleepy. I just wanted to post some new pictures...recent as of Sunday night. Tayler is doing great. Everyday he smiles more and talks more! I got his first real noise (sounded like "hi") on camera and it is priceless! He's so fun and handsome...Daddy and I are in love with him!
That's my bird rattle on my wrist! I love it!

7 weeks and SMILING!

My little boy is growing! During week 6 he had a huge growth spurt and grew out of his newborn clothes! We were sad, but so happy he is growing and healthy! So now we are wearing the 0-3 month outfits. Tayler is so long and lean though that most outfits just fall right off!

He is achieving all of the 7 week milestones...mommy is so proud! He is making noises in response to things, holding his head up (which he has since day one), opening his hands and reaching for objects as well as holding onto them, rolling over and the biggy, SMILING! I was the lucky recipient of Tayler's first killer smile! Since then he has given daddy and grandma several. The cutest and best part is that he has a dimple on each side!!

We've been busy but having a great time! I officially become a stay at home mom tomorrow! I am so excited to spend time getting to know my little boy and being there for all the special moments! Here are some pics! Enjoy! Love you all!
