More of Christmas

I made sure I got Tayler with all of his gifts! Sorry it's a few days late...time goes by so fast! I feel like I blink and the day is gone and my little man is older. It's sad. I am trying to capture as much of him as I can. I try and think of ways that I can make my days longer and feel like I get to spend more time with Tayler...but I haven't come up with any clever ideas. Anyways...enough rambling, here are some pictures.

Tayler's First Christmas

Well, Tayler's first Christmas is over. Time goes by so fast and I have to remind myself to enjoy every second. Christmas was sad for me this year. I was watching The Polar Express this season and I realized that the bell of Christmas no longer rings for me. Today seemed like any other day. I miss the Christmas of my childhood and hope that I can recreate that for my little man. I think that's why we have children. At some point in life we lose all that innocence and joy and when we have children we gain it back through them. I was also reminded that Christmas is about family and getting together with the ones you love and I was surrounded by everyone that I love this season, was Tayler. It was wonderful to share his first Christmas with everyone. Tayler had a good haul this Christmas! I will post what pictures and have now and post more later on. I hope that you all had a wonderful, blessed Christmas.

3 months old

Tayler is 3 months old! I can't believe how fast time has gone! I remember being anxious to have him and even more anxious for his first smile. Now he's already three months and smiles all the time. I just have to remind myself to enjoy every second of every day with him. Tayler is around 11 lbs right now. He spends more of the day awake and alert. When he's awake he's happy and content and loves to mimic mommy and daddy. He is sleeping through the night now as well. Tayler loves the cookie monster and giraffes. He also gets pretty excited around his monkeys. He likes to lay on his blankets and kick his legs, being free to do whatever. He is at a very fun stage right now and keeps us entertained! Christmas will be fun this year! These two pictures were taken just a few minutes ago! He's definitely a Dunlap!

My little Boy

Sometimes, your favorite things about people are the little quirks that they have. I have figured out that these things are what make a person and what make a person interesting and unique from everyone else in the world. My little boy has several of these quirks that I find endearing. He wouldn't be Tayler without them. I thought I would share them. First we have the classic Tayler pose.( As daddy and I call it) Head tilted to the side, arm up, and big blue eyes. We have several pictures with this pose.

Then there is the signature Tayler cry. First off everyone always asks us if that's all the louder he cries. Daddy and I laugh and say yes. But it's not so quiet when you've heard it all day....none the less it is a sweet little cry compared to some I've heard. Anyways, he always cries in three. Ma Ma Ma MAAAAAAAAA! It makes me laugh because it is always like that. He doesn't really know what he's saying, of course, but he does say Ma a lot when he cries. It sounds like he's saying Ma Ma...and everyone always says "oh you want your mom!" lol I of course like that cry! Sometimes when he gets really mad he balls up his fists, his face turns very red, and he yells for a second. Like I am soooo ticked! Then it's over. lol When he is hungry he has an inconsolable cry. No matter what you do, how you hold him, or what you say, he just screams until there is food in his mouth. That's a fun one in public! Daddy and I call him Mr. Inconsolable. I hope the world never runs out of milk or daddy and I are in trouble! The last cry is the I want my blanket and pacifier. I always say he sounds like tires squealing on a car. That's pretty much the only way to describe it. As soon as he's wrapped up and given his pacifier he closes his eyes and has the "this is the best thing ever" glaze over. The best part f all these cries is his facial expressions. He is definitely a drama king and has his daddy's ability to do anything with his face.

Then of course there are his webbed toes. When I first heard he had webbed feet I cried! But now I think that it makes him extra special and it doesn't slow him down at all! He always spreads his toes apart...when he's eating...playing..or especially when you try to put socks on! lol And if you put your finger near his toes he grabs them and won't let go! He got his monkey toes from me!
The last thing, but there are so many more, is when he talks. Mommy and Daddy always say "hi" to him. So his first sound was a big high pitched ""HI" I'm not joking...I even have it on video! It is priceless! So now he says hi all the time. Once again he doesn't know he's saying it...but it is soooo cute! And he is so proud of himself when he talks! On Wednesday during bath time, I got his first laugh. Now that's the cutest thing I have EVER seen or heard!! lol. That's all for now!

What is "Mommy"

Today, as I sit at home, carefully watching my child, intuitively knowing that he does not feel well, I am thinking about being a mom. Every morning I wake up and my first thought is of my baby. I pull myself out of bed only because I am anxious to look at his sweet little face. Peering down over his crib, my heart melting, I see a goofy smile on his face. I think, it was my decision to make him and I made him! How giant of a decision, that is taken so lightly. I believe motherhood starts from the moment you decide you want a child. In that instant, life goes from being about you, to not. January of 2010, I remember laying in the exact spot I am now, with my husband beside me, marveling that we were pregnant. Wondering what life was going to be like and gazing at my tummy with such intense curiosity. Life was wonderful at that moment and the next 9 months proved to be unpredictable and indescribable. No woman can ever possible imagine what childbearing is like, until she is in the midst of it! Mommy is completely unselfish, fiercely protective, forgiving, patient, giving, and unconditionally in love. As I was in the midst of an extremely difficult delivery, 30 hours of labor ending in an emergency c-section, I was not concerned about me but about my child. Laying on the operating table, awake and aware of what was being done, the only thing I wanted was to see him. That moment I heard his sweet little cry and he was brought to me, and we cuddled cheek to cheek, I will remember forever. I was gazing at him in awe of how amazing and beautiful he was, while he was looking at me, knowing who I was and making sure I was always going to be there. Mommy, is not just a name, but a task that is not to be taken lightly. I love being a mommy. My child is a miracle, created by love, and given to us by the Creator, to love and teach and nurture. How much better I understand the Creator and His great love for His children. How I love being "Mommy."

My new Outfit

I bought this for him at Target and had to show it off!!!

My First Thanksgiving

Tayler is now 2 and 1/2 months old! He is getting so long! He is wearing his 3 month clothes already and filling them out length wise but not width wise! He is a skinny little guy. No fat rolls for this baby..lol. We spent our first Thanksgiving with Grandma Lindy and all the cousins. It was wild and alot of fun. Overall Tayler is doing great! He loves to read, talk, smile, kick and of course eat. He is very cute all of the time. He learns something new every day and we enjoy every second. Here are some updated pictures! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

2 Months

Tayler is 2 months old! His appointment went really good. He weighed 9lbs 8 oz and was 23 inches long. He is only in the 8th percentile for weight but the doctor wasn't worried about it. He is thriving in every other area! We recently took a trip to Denver and Tayler got to go to his first professional sports game! The Lakers vs the Nuggets! He is smiling more often now and loves talking. He especially loves it when you sing to him and he always tries to sing along! He is also a big fan of bath time and he only cries when you take him out! He is a great baby and is already sleeping through the night!! Tayler also got a new hat from Grandma! He loves wearing it and looks so dang cute in it! Here are some new pictures.

My first game! Go Lakers or Nuggets...I don't care!

Sorry it's blurry! Taken tonight..so most recent.
